Funka in Vienna
During the conference Zero Project:Accessibility in Vienna 21-23 February, Funka's CEO Susanna Laurin will lecture on accessible ICT, along with other accessibility experts from around the world.
Zero Project is an initiative that focuses globally on the rights of people with disabilities. The aim is to identify innovative and effective solutions to problems faced by people with disabilities, and to spread this knowledge further. A constantly growing network of over 3,000 disability experts in over 150 countries is linked to Zero Project.
Each year, research focuses on a particular theme from the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. A conference about the results is organized each year in Vienna, Austria. The conference brings together about 500 delegates from more than 70 countries. This year the theme is very wide, accessibility overall.
The conference will address accessibility innovations that allow people with disabilities to access places, services, products and tools required to live an independent life. Several sub-topics will be discussed during the conference, such as tourism, public transport, ICT, community construction and art. Funka's Susanna Laurin will speak during the second day of the conference, during the session “G3ICT Forum: Accessible and Inclusive ICT Solutions: Bridging the Gap"
The conference can be followed by social media through the hash tag #Zerocon18 and the project channel on Youtube.
