Funka is leading the EIPAHA Support Action

Funka has been awarded by the EC to lead and coordinate efforts to support the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing, EIPAHA during 2015 and 2016. The project is funded by the European Commission under the framework programme Horizon 2020.

We are very excited to serve as a center of knowledge and a communication hub in this important work, comments Funka CEO Susanna Laurin. We have a long experience in leading networks of local governments and regions in Scandinavia, and also providing support services for the D4 Action Group in the context of EIPAHA.

The project that Funka is leading has allocated a funding of 2 MEURO and the consortium consists of 14 key players from the Member States, including: Swedish ICT, Open Evidence, Central Denmark Region, VTT, AENOR, Nordic Healthcare Group, PAU Education, EHMA, ERRIN, Tecnalia, RESAH, Inovamais and Outsight.

We look forward to working together with our partners in delivering high quality support services to EIPAHA and contribute to the success of this strategic initiative, says José Angel Martinéz Usero, Funkas Responsible for International Affairs. We know we are working with the knowledge leaders in Europe, so it will be a nice mutual learning process for all of us.

The EIPAHA brings together key stakeholders such as end users, public authorities and industry. All of these are actors in the innovation cycle, from research to adaptation, along with those engaged in standardisation and regulation. The partnership provides these actors with a forum in which they can cooperate, united around a common vision that values older people and their contribution to society, identify and overcome potential innovations barriers and mobilise instruments.

The project Funka is leading is called PROEIPAHA and it is about solving already identified challenges, and to develop various support services that help the partnership to achieve their goals. Among other things, the project will work to improve internal cooperation in EIPAHA, and to increase its external influence.
