Inventory to comply with the legal requirements
No matter what accessibility status your organisation has, there are some things you need to do to meet the requirements of the Web Accessibility Directive. The law has different deadlines for different parts, so if you work wisely, it doesn’t have to be expensive or difficult.
We have developed a systematic method to ensure that our customers get control of their internal workflow and solve one problem at a time, in a fitting order. The method can be used by the client's staff with the support of our experts when needed. Another alternative is that we take a greater responsibility and do most of the inventory, and the client can focus on implementing necessary measures.
The main point is that the process will lead to increased skills for the client and greater independence from consultants. Does it sound odd? Aren’t we interested in selling more? Yes, of course we are. But we don’t have a chance to control all the millions of interfaces covered by the law. In addition, we are also taxpayers. It would be terribly expensive and totally unreasonable if we or other consultants were to be involved in reviewing exactly everything out there.
If society ever is to become accessible, then more people need to understand how to make it happen. Therefore, we focus on providing structure, methodology and knowledge to enable our customers to maintain a high level of accessibility themselves.
