WAS-certification - Preparatory training courses

Funka offers a preparatory training course for those working towards WAS-certification. WAS stands for Web Accessibility Specialist and is issued by the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP).

Our training series is in two parts that help you prepare for the test. We provide a clear and inspiring overview and description of the content you need to learn. Independent study is required as part of the training, but to a varying degree depending on your existing knowledge on accessibility work.

In this preparatory WAS training, we go through the following areas:

  • Knowledge about use of JavaScript. 
  • Usability testing in iOS, Android, Windows and iOS environments.
  • Usability testing with multiple forms of assistive technology
  • Browser specific assistive technologies
  • ARIA
  • ATAG
  • Understanding of WCAG 2.1 Standards
  • Understanding of accessibility best practices
  • Web accessibility auditing and remediation
  • Understanding the end-user impacts of web accessibility

ADS-certification
