Validation workshops

The UPower project curriculum has been validated with stakeholders in France, Germany, Sweden and at EU-level during a series of validation workshops. These online events have involved people with disabilities, Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), Vocational Education Training (VET) providers, public sector bodies and IT-suppliers.

The validation workshops were very successful, attracting altogether more than 130 active participants.

Some highlights:

  • In the workshop carried out in English, the 30 participants came from 17 countries and nearly 80% of the participants that do training said they would like to use the curriculum in their offering.
  • The workshop carried out in Swedish attracted 62 participants. More than 70% of the participants that do training said they would like to use the curriculum in their offering.
  • The 3 German workshops had altogether 18 participants, mostly VET providers and representatives of OPDs. The participants actively discussed the project results, and all of them stated their willingness to develop training courses based on the model curriculum, to include the content in existing concepts or to disseminate the project results.
  • In the French workshop, the discussion with the 25 participants – of which 21 were persons with disabilities, and 10 were representing VET providers or OPDs – highlighted the need for the initiative of teaching persons about the feedback mechanism.

The English and Swedish workshops have been recorded and can be seen using the links below. Live captions and sign language are provided.
