EU-project on women with disabilities

RISEWISE stands for RISE Women with disabilities In Social Engagement. Focusing on women with disabilities RISEWISE fosters mobility of female researchers to increase set of skills and improve employability and career prospects both in and outside academia.

- Women with disabilities suffer from discrimination in several facets of their life, says Susanna Laurin, CEO of Funka. That is why it is so important to share knowledge on the topic, and we are happy to contribute to it through this project.

The RISEWISE project focuses on the collective of women with disabilities from different perspectives, trying to identify needs and best practices in several EU countries, representing different cultural and socio-economic environments, for the integration and improvement of their quality of life in several respects. By applying a novel analysis method, based on the experience acquired by the exchange of researchers, innovation staff and practitioners in the European area among the participating institutions, the project will identify a set of multi-sectorial research lines that can contribute to enhance the integration and involvement of this sector of the population in the society along several dimensions.

Leveraging on our wide experience in the accessibility themes, Funka will mainly support the project in the communication and dissemination activities also contributing to sharing knowledge and best practices and designing the roadmap for the exploitation of results.

The outcome of the project will be the proposition of a coherent set of research lines and projects that will contribute to implement solutions integrating advances from ICT services and technologies, law, enterprises, labour market, social actors, decision-making, entertainment and so forth.
