A Mediterranean Federation for Advancing Vascular Surgery: Me.FAVS

The Campania Reference Site has supported the establishment of the "Mediterranean Federation for Advanced Vascular Surgery" (Me.FAVS). The Federation aims to promote and strengthen the cooperation between the main organizations involved in Vascular Surgery and countries of the Mediterranean basin: in particular Italy, France, Spain, Greece, Portugal, the Balkan area, Lebanon, the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia and other countries that face the Mediterranean or are interested in collaborating.

The constitutional Congress of MeFAVS took place in Naples on 1-2 October 2018. The drive for a collaboration space has been leading the founders to create MeFAVS as a new organization to address the need of sharing the know-how in vascular surgery, especially in training the young vascular surgeons in the framework of innovative-wary public health policies. To achieve these ambitious objectives, a structured network was established, to allow partners to stay constantly engaged in sharing knowledge and learning opportunities, working jointly to reduce health inequalities and foster the progress of vascular surgery and public health throughout the Mediterranean area.
