Accessible technology, code and development

This course is for those who want to learn more about how to actually achieve accessibility in technical terms. Both according to legal requirements and according to Funka's recommendations. We'll show clear examples of good and bad code, go through the requirements and explain what works and what doesn't. Combine self-paced and live learning.

For whom?

The course is aimed at developers with basic knowledge of HTML.

About the course

To follow standards and create an accessible interface, you need to know how it works and looks in practice. Otherwise, you risk building in barriers that prevent groups of users from accessing the interface at all. Often such barriers are not created as a conscious decision but due to ignorance.

In this course, we look at how to build accessible interfaces in HTML and CSS. The course covers the basics of what it takes to develop accessible interfaces. We also cover the tools that are used.

Course content

The course is based on EN301549 v 3.2.1 and WCAG 2.1.

We go through correct coding according to W3C's WCAG 2.1 guidelines, giving practical examples and useful tips. We also cover navigation, logical structure and rules for basic accessible publishing.
