Accessible technology, code and development
This course is for those who want to learn more about how to actually achieve accessibility in technical terms. Both according to legal requirements and according to Funka's recommendations. We'll show clear examples of good and bad code, go through the requirements and explain what works and what doesn't. Combine self-paced and live learning.

The course is aimed at developers with basic knowledge of HTML.
About the course
To follow standards and create an accessible interface, you need to know how it works and looks in practice. Otherwise, you risk building in barriers that prevent groups of users from accessing the interface at all. Often such barriers are not created as a conscious decision but due to ignorance.
In this course, we look at how to build accessible interfaces in HTML and CSS. The course covers the basics of what it takes to develop accessible interfaces. We also cover the tools that are used.
Course content
The course is based on EN301549 v 3.2.1 and WCAG 2.1.
We go through correct coding according to W3C's WCAG 2.1 guidelines, giving practical examples and useful tips. We also cover navigation, logical structure and rules for basic accessible publishing.

After completing this course
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Understand how to make the most of screen readers and HTML/CSS, to meet accessibility requirements.
- Make the interface, navigation, and links as accessible as possible.
- Navigate digital accessibility using various assistive tools.
- Work with colours, presentation, structure, and formatting to make the user experience better for all users.
- Implement images, forms, and tables in the most accessible way possible.
- Keep an accessibility mindset when working with scripts, automatic events, frameworks, search, documents, and other media formats.
How is the course delivered?
The course consists of two parts; a self-paced course followed by a teacher-led live session.
Self-paced course on-demand
With this self-paced course, you get a basic overview, but also the opportunity to focus on selected areas that you have a particular need for. You can access the course when it suits you. The course is divided into parts - take one or more at a time. You can also use the course as a knowledge base; the search function makes it easy to find what you need.
