Why is it important?

Why is it important to train in digital accessibility?

One major reason is that in the summer of 2025, a new law on accessibility will enter into force in Sweden. The law means that companies must now ensure that their websites, products and services are accessible to all customers. For public sector organisations, legislation is already in place and additional rules govern what applies internationally.

Knowledge of accessibility also brings business benefits - companies and organisations increase their competitiveness and reach a wider customer base.

Overview

Important information such as forms are often posted as documents on the web. But a document is not automatically accessible if it is not done correctly. With this package, you will gain practical knowledge on how to produce accessible documents, what you need to do to meet the legal requirements, and what tools you can use in your preparation.

For whom?

The content of this solid course package is aimed at those who require basic knowledge of accessibility followed by specialised courses on how to produce accessible documents from different software and PDF files. Your role could be a document manager, communicator, information officer or content manager.

You do not need any prior knowledge of accessibility as the package includes the required introductory courses.

How are the courses delivered?

All courses included in the package are delivered using Funka Learning Voyage - our three-step pedagogical model; you get a knowledge base through recorded training films followed by in-depth lectures and practical workshops.

Self-paced courses on-demand

Funka Academy's recorded courses are for those who want broad basic knowledge in accessibility close at hand. You get a basic overview but also the opportunity to focus on selected areas that you have a particular need for.

You can take part in the courses on-demand when it suits you, you get access to them immediately after registration. Each course consists of training films that are divided into chapters to make it easier for you to assimilate the content. You can also use the courses as a knowledge bank; the search function makes it easy to find what you need.

Add lectures and workshops

Do you want to further improve your theoretical and practical skills? Maybe you have, or are about to enter, a role where deeper knowledge of accessibility is necessary? Or you simply believe that you learn best and most from teacher-led teaching, application and practice.

For you, we offer complementary one-day sessions as a continuation and extension of the recorded basic courses.

The course days consist of a lecture in the morning and a workshop after lunch. The lectures provide broadening and deepening of skills, the afternoon workshop includes application, discussion and practical exercises.

Key facts:

7 course days, each day consists of a lecture at 09:00-12:00 and a workshop at 13:00-16:00.

• The course days are spread over two to three months, approximately one day a week.

• Funka's subject matter experts lead the sessions.
• The course days are given live online via Zoom.

Many starting dates

For those who choose live broadcast course days, we offer up to five start dates per half year. This gives you maximum freedom of choice based on your work and life situation.

After the courses

Once you have completed all the courses in the package, you will receive a digital training certificate showing that you have participated and the scope and content of the course package.

You will have continued access to the recorded courses including materials and knowledge bank for 6 months from the date of order.
